Alhamdulillah, after five long and painful years, a missing girl named Nasreen has finally been reunited with her family, and this deeply emotional moment was made possible through the dedicated efforts of Mera Pyara, working under the vision of Punjab Safe Cities Authority.
Nearly 5 years ago, a young girl was found in a vulnerable and abandoned condition in the Lodhran region. She was frightened, alone, and unable to share even the most basic details about herself, her home, her family, or where she originally belonged. Without any identifying information, tracing her loved ones became an extremely difficult task for the authorities.
Efforts to find her family began immediately. Information was gathered from the police officer who had rescued her, and records were checked across multiple police stations to see if any missing child report had been filed that could help identify her. Despite these sincere efforts, no matching report was found and Nasreen's identity remained unknown. For her safety and well-being, she was placed at Dar-ul-Aman Lodhran where she stayed for nearly two years, before later being shifted to Lahore for continued care and protection.
When this case came under the attention of Punjab Safe Cities Authority, the Mera Pyara team took special responsibility for tracing her family. The team conducted repeated and careful interviews with Nasreen, patiently trying to gather any possible clue that could lead them back to her loved ones. Her story, photos, and video appeals were shared multiple times across Mera Pyara's official social media platforms as part of an extensive awareness and tracing campaign, reaching thousands of people across Pakistan.
This persistent effort finally paid off. Through Mera Pyara's social media campaign, Nasreen's family came across her information and recognized her after five heartbreaking years of separation. The family confirmed that Nasreen had gone missing from Jarahi village, near Mian Channu in Punjab. Following this breakthrough, the Mera Pyara team initiated a thorough verification process, carefully reviewing all family information and supporting documents to confirm the child's identity. After successful verification and completion of all necessary legal procedures, Nasreen was safely reunited with her parents.
The reunion was filled with overwhelming emotions, a moment of tears, relief, and deep gratitude as parents finally embraced their daughter after years of uncertainty and endless prayers. Such success stories highlight the true purpose and real-world impact of Mera Pyara's mission. Due to its continuous efforts and meaningful results, the initiative has also been selected among the Top 20 E-Government Initiatives at the WSIS Forum 2026, a recognition that reflects how technology and compassion together can change lives.
Mera Pyara continues its mission with the same commitment, so that every missing child in Pakistan can safely return home to their family.
