Alhamdulillah, after nearly eight years of separation, Hamza has finally been reunited with his family, a heartwarming moment that reflects hope, persistence, and the impactful efforts of Mera Pyara, working under the vision of Punjab Safe Cities Authority.
Hamza went missing around 8 to 9 years ago in Islamabad. He was later found in a vulnerable and unidentified condition near Lari Adda Faisalabad by a concerned citizen. To ensure the child’s safety, the individual referred him to the Child Protection Bureau in Faisalabad, where he was provided shelter, care, and protection.
For years, Hamza lived away from his loved ones, unable to reconnect with his family. Meanwhile, his family continued searching for him, holding onto hope despite the passage of time.
When the case came under the attention of the Punjab Safe Cities Authority, the Mera Pyara team took proactive steps to trace his identity and locate his family. As part of its mission, the team recorded Hamza’s interview and shared it on Mera Pyara’s official Facebook page to maximize outreach.
This effort proved to be a turning point.
Hamza’s cousin, Nisar Ahmed, saw the video from Islamabad and immediately recognized him. Without delay, he contacted the Mera Pyara team and confirmed that the child in the video was their long-lost family member.
Following this lead, the Mera Pyara team initiated a thorough verification process. The family provided the necessary information and identification details, which were carefully reviewed. After completing all legal and verification procedures, arrangements were made to reunite Hamza with his family.
Alhamdulillah, after years of separation, Hamza is finally on his way back to his loved ones, a moment filled with relief, joy, and gratitude.
Such success stories highlight the real impact of Mera Pyara’s mission. Due to its consistent efforts, the initiative has been recognized globally and selected as one of the Top 20 E-Government projects at the WSIS Forum 2026.
Mera Pyara continues its mission to ensure that every missing child finds their way back home.
